So the pics on Alex Meraz MySpace profile where he is floating are real. They were taken by Native American photog ‘Anthony “Thosh” Collins’. I just had to clear that up. Cause he’s mid air!!! You can also see Alex in the 2006 and 2008 “21st Century Skins Calendar” produced by Shaunya Manus of Viewfinder Productions, Inc. And who could forget this world famous shot taken by Mihio Manus.

Alex speaks on his culture and where he is from. Kiowa represents his tribe by wearing a t-shirt from The Hualapai Tribal Nation.

There is so, so, so much talk in this video about Native Americans, mainstream media and being comtemporary.

Anthony “THOSH” Collins is a photographer from the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community in Arizona and currently resides in Los Angeles, California. Thosh works as a freelance photographer in the greater LA area and works extensively with the Native communities locally & internationally. Thosh started doing photography at the age of 15 at The New School for the Arts High School of Scottsdale, Arizona, and later attended the San Francisco Art Institute on a full-ride scholarship. Thosh uses various genres of photography like, portraiture, fashion, editorial as a tool to document contemporary Native peoples and their many talents and the realities of Native people as they strive to help preserve their identities in today’s world.
